Ugandan Wins Caine Prize

Ugandan writer Monica Arac de Nyeko has won the Caine Prize for African Writing for her short story “Jambula Tree,” included in her collection African Love Stories.

Hey, Hannah. Great pictures on this blog! Certainly material for a book. I happened onto the blog of Remica Bingham, who graduated at our first residency, and she was crossing her fingers for Ada Udechukwu, her classmate, who was also up for the Caine. Oh well. What have you been reading?

hi woody, just finished david mitchell's Black Swan Green and barbara pym's The Sweet Dove Died. Both quick and lovely reads. Before that was The Master and Margarita, less quick but no less lovely. i've just started mark helprin's Winter's Tale, just to go back to the more fantastical...
